Education & Poverty

One of the aims of Rose Howey is to explore how parents can continue to pursue cultural, political or earth activism, linked into that is Home Education, which in of itself can be activism.   Here at Rose Howey, we have a number of children who are home educated, as well as children who are, or have chosen to return to school.  We are looking at ways to support parents who home educate to continue doing so in the current climate of political austerity, as well as supporting parents of schooled children.  One of the suggestions currently in discussion in Rose Howey is the formation of a worker’s coop.

We also support the local home ed community by hosting events at the house, from art clubs to science, to creative writing.
